Breitling Watches – An Overview:
Breitling was so named after the name of its founder G. Leon Breitling, who founded the company in 1884 in St.Imiez, in the Jura Mountains of Switzerland. However, in 1892 the company moved its offices to La Cahux-de-Fonds, Switzerland’s primary watch producing centre. Leon Breitling was only 24 hours old at the time of the foundation of the company, but his ambitions were high and he wanted to introduce high quality technical and specialised watches. Originally, the company aimed at specialising to make precision chronograph pocket watches and clocks for scientific and industrial purposes. Gatson, the son of Leon Breitling, produced the first chronograph wristwatch of the company. This was a year later after the death of his father in 1914.
